This site (transcriber.tools.ryusei.io) is a free, individually run transcription tool that works in the browser. This page describes how users' files and data are handled.
Audio files and transcripts
Transcription, speaker diarization and translation all run inside your browser. Audio files and transcripts are never sent to this site's server, and this site never stores or views them. The AI models used for transcription are downloaded from Hugging Face on first use and kept in your browser (no audio is sent at that point). Your history (transcripts and audio) is stored in your browser and can be deleted from the page at any time.
Analytics
Google Analytics is used to improve the site. Statistics such as pages viewed, time on page and browser type are sent to Google; the contents of your audio and file names are not included.
Advertising
Ads are served through Google AdSense to cover running costs. Google may use cookies to show ads based on your interests. Personalised ads can be disabled in Google's Ads Settings. The Japanese pages also show affiliate advertising through A8.net; if you buy a product through such a link, this site may receive a commission.
Cookies
Cookies are used for your language setting and for the analytics and advertising described above. If you click an A8.net ad link, A8.net and the advertiser's site use cookies to record the referral. No information about the audio you process is stored in cookies.
Processing statistics
To fix problems, this site collects statistics on its own server about whether processing succeeded. What is sent: your device specs (GPU model, memory, core count), browser and OS, the model and language you chose, how far the run got, the error type and details, the file's format with a rough size and length, and how long it took. Audio, transcripts, file names and IP addresses are not sent. The data is deleted automatically after 30 days and is never passed to a third-party service. You can turn this off at any time with the switch under “Help us improve the service” at the bottom of the page, and nothing is sent if your browser's Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control setting is on.
